RESUMEN

Coinfection caused by bacteria, parasites, or viruses complicates almost all feline panleukopenia virus (FPV) infections. Pathogens that colonize the gastrointestinal tract, Clostridium perfingens, Clostridium piliforme, Cryptosporidium spp, Giardia spp, Tritrichomonas fetus, canine parvovirus type 2,Salmonella sp., feline coronavirus, feline bocavirus, and feline astrovirus were isolated in the presence of FPV infection. Complex mechanisms between viruses, bacteria, protozoa, and hosts contribute to the pathogenesis and severity of coinfection. Prompt and accurate diagnosis, vaccination precautions, and appropriate treatment play important roles in reducing morbidity and mortality. This article outlines the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment that can help veterinarians and pet owners improve their knowledge of managing the diseases.

RESUMEN

In the pasca of the COVID-19 pandemic, many researchers have focused on finding drugs for the COVID-19. Peptide research is predicted to have a physiological mechanism of action and it does not cause side effects, therefore it is necessary to search for peptide sources. The aim of this study was to characterize peptides extracted from tamban fish (Sardinella fimbriata) and fermented products (Cincalok of Tanjungpinang). Peptide extract was obtained by maceration extraction using 95% PA (1:5) ethanol solvent, and then it filtered using MWCO 3 kDa and 10 kDa. The amino acid characteristics of the peptides was obtained using HPLC. Peptides of tamban fish had the pH of 7.6 and they are rich of amino acid histidine (890.18 mg/L), in addition to the amino acids glutamate, tyrosine, glycine, leucine, alanine, and aspartic acid. But the peptides of the fermented cincalok product had the pH of 6.4 and they are rich of amino acid leucine (1066.83 mg/L), in addition to the amino acids glutamate, valine, isoleucine, and alanine. Each of these peptides had the molecular weight of 10 kDa. The results of this study can be used as preliminary information to the pharmaceutical development of a new source of peptides. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

RESUMEN

Background: Heart failure remains a considerable burden to healthcare in Asia. Early intervention, mainly using echocardiography, to assess cardiac function is crucial. However, due to limited resources and time, the procedure has become more challenging during the COVID-19 pandemic. On the other hand, studies have shown that artificial intelligence (AI) is highly potential in complementing the work of clinicians to diagnose heart failure accurately and rapidly. Methods: We systematically searched Europe PMC, ProQuest, Science Direct, PubMed, and IEEE following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and our inclusion and exclusion criteria. The 14 selected works of literature were then assessed for their quality and risk of bias using the QUADAS-2 (Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies). Results: A total of 2105 studies were retrieved, and 14 were included in the analysis. Five studies posed risks of bias. Nearly all studies included datasets in the form of 3D (three dimensional) or 2D (two dimensional) images, along with apical four-chamber (A4C) and apical two-chamber (A2C) being the most common echocardiography views used. The machine learning algorithm for each study differs, with the convolutional neural network as the most common method used. The accuracy varies from 57% to 99.3%. Conclusions: To conclude, current evidence suggests that the application of AI leads to a better and faster diagnosis of left heart failure through echocardiography. However, the presence of clinicians is still irreplaceable during diagnostic processes and overall clinical care;thus, AI only serves as complementary assistance for clinicians.

RESUMEN

The impact of the pandemic is felt by people all over the world. This is caused by stigmatization, discrimination, positive experiences of Covid, and disruption of social support. The purpose of this systematic literature review was to find out the psychological impact during the pandemic on the community. This systematic literature review was compiled by searching for articles from 2020 to 2021 contained in health databases from several journals such as Elsevier, BMC, Index, Cambridge University Press, Dove Press, and Wiley which was performed electronically. The inclusion criteria included in this study were focusing on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and mental health. From 20 articles, it was shown that psychological factors also played an important role in adherence to preventive measures in public health (such as vaccination) and how people deal with the threat of this virus infection with good health protocols. A person with a low level of education had a risk of being prone to depression and anxiety. This was because if someone with a high level of education had extensive knowledge about virus transmission so that they were better able to protect and cope with the anxiety and depression. Theoretically, the implication of this study is to enrich insight related to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on community mental health. While practically, this study might empower the community to maintain a healthy lifestyle during the pandemic that can prevent mental disorders. We hope this study will also empower stakeholders to create a policy that works in facilitating mental health assistant during the pandemic, especially for the Covid-19 patients in the community. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.

RESUMEN

The gender gap that occurs in Special Capital Region of Jakarta, between men and women has an impact on aspects of employment related to labor absorption. Increasing the number of optimal employment opportunities, both in terms of productivity and efficiency, can determine the success of economic development in a region. This study was conducted to see how likely it is that women are unemployed, in relation to the employment aspect in Special Capital Region of Jakarta which is based on secondary data from BPS and analyzed with a descriptive quantitative approach. The results showed that the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Special Capital Region of Jakarta in 2019-2020 experienced a significant increase in 2020, namely 4.86% for men and 4.5% for women. Different results are shown in the variable labor force participation rate (TPAK), which tends to experience a fluctuating trend with the participation rate of men being higher than women. In general, the COVID-19 pandemic has an impact on employment, which in turn has an impact on unemployment. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the unemployment rate was dominated by men, due to the high wages of men compared to women. In addition, women's labor force participation rates are relatively low compared to men's, causing women to have little chance of being unemployed. Female workers have higher resilience than male workers, this is due to the higher saturation of women in informal economic activities with entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurial activities tend to have more resilience than formal workers because there is no risk of termination of employment from the employer. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.

RESUMEN

The spread of the highly infectious COVID-19 has severely impacted the global community. Population density and intense physical interaction are the catalysts of the virus spread. Many regulations were issued to halt the spread of the virus, including the limitation of people's mobility and physical interaction. With the limitation of mobility and physical interaction, many people with disabilities are struggling to access their needs since they depend on their caregivers. The lack of inclusive policies in the health system itself also ends up deprioritizing the disabled. This article aims to identify the correlation between physical disability and COVID-19 cases and identify the spatial distribution of the correlation in Sleman regency, Indonesia. This article presents the correlation with the qualitative approach using Pearson product-moment correlation method. The data used in this article is secondary data obtained from official government agencies. The findings of this study showed that Pearson correlation between physical disability and COVID-19 cases is 0,04346 and classified as very low positive. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.

RESUMEN

Indonesia is one of the countries most affected by the Coronavirus pandemic with millions confirm cases. Hence, the government has increased strict procedures for using face masks in public areas. For this reason, the detection of people wearing face masks in public areas is needed. Face mask detection is a part of the classification problem. Thus Support Vector Machine (SVM) can be implemented. SVM is still known as one of the most powerful and efficient classification algorithms. The research aims to build an automatic face mask detector using SVM. However, it needs to modify it first because it only can classify linear data. The modification is made by adding kernel functions, and a Multi-kernel approach is chosen. The proposed method is applied by combining various kernels into one kernel equation. The dataset used in the research is a face mask image obtained from Github. The data are public datasets consisting of faces with and without masks. The results present that the proposed method provides good performance. It is proven by the average value. The values are 83.67% for sensitivity, 82.40% for specificity, 82.00% for precision, 82.93% for accuracy, and 82.77% for F1-score. These values are better than other experiments using single kernel SVM with the same process and dataset. © 2022 CommIT Journal. All rights reserved.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUNDS: The COVID-19 pandemic has created a global health emergency that requires a public health response to prevent the spread of the virus. AIM: The purpose of this study was to determine the prediction model for the incidence of COVID-19 based on the community behavior. METHODS: This study used a cross-sectional study design. The study population was all people aged above 18 years in Medan City. The samples were 395 people recruited by convenience sampling technique. The research instrument used was a questionnaire in Google form, then, we transferred the data from the survey to a computer program using Microsoft Office Excel. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using the neural networks method. Later, the features importance was calculated using the random forest with mean decrease impurity method. RESULTS: The results showed that, based on the confusion matrix, the prediction value for those who did not suffer from COVID-19 was correct from negative data = 8, the correct prediction value for COVID-19 from positive data = 8. While the incorrect prediction value for machines that predicted negative results but the actual data was positive = 2, and predicted a positive result but the actual data was negative = 4. Thus, based on the neural net classification method, the accuracy value was 72%. The results of this study indicate that poor preventive behavior by the community greatly affects the spread of COVID-19. CONCLUSION: Poor community behavior, such as not limiting their interaction or contact with other people, not exercising frequently, leaving the house without keeping a safe distance, and not washing hands regularly can all contribute to the COVID-19 transmission in the community.
